Thumbnail sketches 032519

When I was stumped on an idea, and when I would rather watch movies than anything else, I found a way to combine tv watching and practice. I would thumbnail movie scenes from some of my fave films while watching them. I found that this was a great way to practice paying attention to composition, and camera angles, while not feeling guilty about taking on a major painting or completing a major work. It’s the best of both worlds. These thumbnails are from “There will be blood”, a pretty great movie on it’s own. I find that “studying” films and not just watching them was a great way to appreciate them more.
